Join me for a day of learning how to mend your clothes beautifully. We will spend the day as a small group exploring mending through sewing and darning.
The Arc is Winchester’s public library and also hosts a gallery space, performance space and learning spaces.
It is situated in the centre of the historic city of Winchester, easily accessible by public transport
We will practice the techniques you need on samples and there will also be the opportunity to discuss any mends you might also bring along, as each presents its own challenges. If time permits, you may be able to get started on those mends too.
The day includes teas and coffees, all materials and written instructions. There may also be the opportunity to purchase additional materials to take away.
The Arc has a vibrant cafe where you can purchase lunch if you wish.
Approximate timetable for the day:
10.30-13.00 Introductions and session on mending with sewing
13.00-1400 Lunch
14.00-16.30 Mending with darning
