Kate is another longstanding friend who I have known for about 15 years. She is such a source of wisdom for me and I am so happy she is coming along with me on this journey. We first met at the school-gates in London and since then have kept in touch whilst I relocated to the New Forest and Kate travelled with her family, living in various European cities. During this time I have watched as Kate developed herself and her yoga practice, becoming the sought after teacher she is today. Kate is also a qualified Life Coach, and has worked with many individuals and companies to help them achieve their goals.
Kate will be offering a gentle yoga session on Saturday and Sunday morning and a relaxation session on Saturday afternoon.
In Kate’s own words:
“The yoga I teach is based on Ashtanga Vinyasa, a dynamic, powerful yoga that helps to keep the body and mind strong, flexible and calm. I say ‘based on’ because I am not a purist, as with coaching I believe in adapting all I have learned to meet your needs.
At the age of 30 I went to my first yoga class after slipping a disc in my back. Back then I did it to help keep my core strong and never had any intention of ever teaching others to do it! Over the years however I realised what a powerful practice yoga can be as I began to notice the changes in my head and heart, as well as in my body.
I truly believe there is not a person on the planet who couldn’t benefit in some way, shape or form from this ancient practice and I intend to make it my life’s work to bring it to as many people as I can reach no matter what their age or physical limitations!
The true purpose of yoga is the union of the heart, mind, body and soul, to help us find our true nature and be free of a conditioned existence. As well as giving you an opportunity to stretch your muscles and oil your joints, my intention for our morning yoga session is to give you the opportunity to connect more fully with your creativity and help prepare you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually for the workshops ahead.
In the evening we will focus more on unwinding, stretching out and relaxing. No previous experience of yoga is needed to be able to enjoy these sessions – they will be suitable for everyone.”
